About the author:

Leela Majumdar(1908-2007) is a famous Bengali story writer and literary. She wrote many stories for kids and teenagers. Her writing style is simple yet that everyone can understand. She is the cousin of notable Bengali writer Sukumar Roy. Some of her notable writings are “Maku”, “Golposolpo”, “Sob vuture”, “Bagher golpo”, etc. Leela Majumdar was connected with the “Sandesh” magazine as a co-editor from 1963 to 1994. Her very first story “Lokhhi Chele” was published in this magazine. She also received the “Ananda award”, “Vidyasagar award”, “Vubaneshwari Padak award”, etc. Later She was awarded the “Rabindra award” in 1969 for her autobiography “Ar Konkhane”.

“Holde Pakhir Palok” is a short story by Leela Majumdar written for children. There are three characters in this story Jhagru, Bogi dada. and Rumu didi. Jhagru loves to tell Fabulous stories and events to Bogi and Rumu. Jhagru made them aware of a myth that if a fox or a dog eats an injured yellow bird then the fox or the dog turns into a human. The whole plot of this story rotates around a village landscape. With various twists, the story goes on.
