Poet Nabanita Deb Sen – born in Kolkata. Her father is poet Narendra Dev and mother poet Radharani Devi. She was married to Nobel Laureate economist Amarta Sen soon after receiving her master’s degree. But their marriage got divorced in 1976.
This poet is a worthy successor of two star parents of Bengali literature. After graduating from Presidency College, Kolkata, she received a master’s degree from Jadavpur University and Harvard University in the United States and Ph.D. from Indiana University. She then completed post-doctoral research at the University of California at Berkeley and Newnham College under the University.
