Writer- Nalini is the granddaughter of Upendrakishore Roychowdhury, daughter of Punyalata. She received her B.A. degree from Calcutta University and get Ishan Scholar in the exam, she also won first place in M. A. She married Ashokananda, the brother of Jibanananda Das. After working as a professor, she went to England in 1945 for higher studies.
Later she was the principal of the Institute of Education for Women for a long time. When Satyajit Ray republished “Sandesh” in 1961 then she started writing regularly for children. Her detective story “Goyenda Gandalu” become very popular.

Kalu, Malu, Tulu and Bulu are four school girls. They attend the same class at a boarding school; they lives in the same room of the hostel. And love to solve mysteries, and wherever they go they find mystery and try to solve it.
