Jogindranath Sarkar (1866 – 27th June 1937) was a renowned Bengali child literary. His books have been entertaining to children for more than a hundred year. He worked as a teacher at City Collegiate School and since then he has been interested in child literature and began to compose children literature. He was very skilled in writing the nonsense verse. His compiled book ‘Hasi O Khela’ was published in 1891. He used to write Sakh, Sakhi, Mukul, Balakbandhu, Balak, sandesh and other children magazines. He also edited Mukul’s magazine. He wrote about thirty books for children, among of them ‘Hasikhusi’, ‘Khukumanir Chhara’, ‘Hasirasi’, ‘Hasi O khela’, ‘Chhara O Chhabi’, ‘Rangachhabi’, ‘Galposanchoy’, ‘Shishuchoyanika’, ‘Hijibiji’ etc. also twenty-one mythological books of childlike. This renowned author also wrote many school-based text books as ‘Shiskkhamukul’, ‘Shiskkhaprabesh’, ‘Shiskkhasanchoy’ etc.
