The Urdu novel ‘Umrao Jaan, written by Mirza Muhammad Hadi Ruswa. It has been writing in Urdu language and translated into Bangla by Anwar Hossain Manju. The main character of this novel, ‘Umrao Jaan’ who was a dancer and poet in Lucknow city in the early 19th century. There are two Hindi cinema has been created based on this novel.
Writer Poet Mirza Hadi Ruswa born in 1857 in the same year of Sepoy rebellion. He has written five books in Urdu throughout life, one of them is ‘Umraazan-e-Ada’. Amiron is a little girl from Faizabad’s poor house, she was sold in a ‘Kotha’ in Lucknow because of the misfortune. The girl grew up in the nineteenth century in Lucknow and she became famous as Umrao Jaan for her classical dance and song.
