About the novel:
The story of the novel “Dampati” rotates around a married couple where the groom is named “Gadadhar” and the bride is named “Anganmohini”. Gadadhar had a business of jute farming. To make his business more established, he went to Kolkata with his family, and there he meets Tollywood actress Sovarani Mitra through Gadadhar’s childhood friend Nirmal and a relative Sachin. After this meeting, Gadadhar’s lifestyle started to change slowly. The ending of the story is so much surprising. Through this novel, Bibhutibhushan expresses the greedy side of humans and the ambitions of humans.
