Shankarnath Roy is one of the great writers of biographical literature of Bengal. He is well known as the writer of the ‘Bharater Sadhak’. Shankarnath Roy is the pseudonym of the author, the real name is Pramthnath Bhattacharya. He was born in 1911 at Dhaka district of undivided Bengal. After completed M.A. he became associated with journalism. He studied for a long time about Indian culture, philosophy, theology, and saint life. He is close and long-time in contact with various auspicious monasteries, congregations and even Saraswat Kendra in northern and southern India. The major contributions of this author’s literary talent are- ‘Bharater Sadhak’, ‘Sadhusanter Mohasangome’, ‘Bharater Sadhika’, etc.
