Bartaman Bharat (Modern India or Present Day India in English) is an article written by Swami Vivekananda. It was published in the March 1899 issue of Udbodhan, the only Bengali mouthpiece of the Ramakrishna Math and Mission. The article was published in book form in 1905. Swami Sardananda wrote the introduction to this book. Later it was included in the sixth volume of Swami Vivekanander Bani O Rachana Sankalan. In this article, Vivekananda discusses and explains the entire history of India and predicted the coup of the Shudras. He expressed concern in this article for the poor and neglected people of India. In this article, he called on Indians to consider everyone as a brother, irrespective of caste or creed.
