‘Shiv Purana’ is one of the eighteen great Puranas of Hindus and the scripture is written in the Sanskrit language. Although the mythology was originally written about the Hindu deity Shiva and the goddess Parvati, it contains references to other deities.
Lord Shiva of the Hinduism is actually the god of wisdom. That means if you want to be wise you must be a worshiper of Shiva. All those Hindu religions whose main deity is Lord Shiva they are known as “Shaiva”.
In Shiva Purana, there are one lakh verses in the 12 Samhita but before giving the knowledge of mythology to Romashrishna, Krishnadwaipayan Byasdeb summarized it.
